Takeout options becoming more important for restaurant operators to gain an increase source of revenue. Almost 60 percent of surveyed consumers said they purchase takeout at least once a week or more.
95% of those consumers said they would have made food at home versus eating at the restaurant.
Other related findings show that 60 percent of consumers will pay more for sustainable materials that make the takeout packaging.
Consumers did have some complaints:
52 percent did not like food leaking
49 percent had issue with food freshness
46 percent had issue with missing ingredients
46 percent had issue with food not being hot and cold
