Hotplates are sometimes referred to as countertop ranges. They provide extra burners for additional cooking capacity for high volume food service kitchens. They can be electric or gas, and from one to eight burners. When buying electric hotplates, make sure to doublecheck your voltage to assure your countertop power source supports it and it provides enough power for your cooking needs.
